Psych-rock/Americana outfit These United States evoke the sounds of Manifest Destiny: their earnest music is purposeful, reaffirming, and full of adventure. it was in this spirit that the band -- led by Jesse Elliott, pictured at right -- returned to the famed Daytrotter studios in the Fall of 2008 for a second recording session. The result is a stunning collection of intimate re-workings of their songs that perfectly complement the band's two fantastic studio LPs. It is often said that live performance is what sets great bands apart from the mediocre -- as proven below, These United States find themselves firmly rooted among the great.
