A&E picks up 'Hammertime'

A&E Network has signed on for a little Hammer time.
The cabler has greenlit J.D. Roth-produced reality series "Hammertime," which tracks the life of one-time chart-topping rapper-dancer MC Hammer and his family.
A&E has ordered 11 half-hour episodes of the series, which is currently in production and will bow on the network later this year.
"Hammertime" is produced for A&E by 3 Ball Prods. ("Biggest Loser," "Beauty and the Geek"), with Roth, Todd Nelson and Stanley Burrell (aka "MC Hammer") serving as exec producers.
